In the last couple years our awareness about our environment and overuse of chemicals has increased dramatically.  Water bottles have been replaced with refillable ones, light bulbs with more environmentally friendly options.

But what about what’s in your secret drawer, your go to toy, have you ever thought about that?

A few years ago when I started on this journey to create Blushing Bloomer I had a wake up moment.  I thought about what heated plastic was potentially doing to my body.  I had made such big strides in changing the type of food I ate and started to take more concise steps toward living more environmentally responsible but had not done anything about changing my favorite toys.

A few years ago there were few manufactures addressing the need for higher quality sex toys that were body friendly and eco friendly. But that has since changed and there have been great strides to provide both you and me with a plethora of options.

Blushing Bloomer has set out to carry some of the best products in the market today, great design and great materials.

But you may be still asking yourself what does body friendly and eco friendly really mean? and what does it mean for you?

Toys- What are Phthalates?

Phthalates have been in the news for some time, there has been a lot of concern over the chemical found in plastic.  The main issue is some studies conducted have shown there is potential for leaching into the body, potentially causing cancer.  We don’t want to carry a product selection that potentially poses that risk and so all of our toys are Phthalate free.

Lubricants- What are Parabens?

Parabens are a type of chemical used as a persevative in cosmetics and body products. The main concern is the long term side effects of using them everyday over a long period of time. As well as the overall concern of placing this chemicals into your body.

We have selected Eco and Body Friendly toys and lubricants based on what they do not contain phthalates and parabens and have tried to carry rechargeable toys whenever possible.

Healthy Lubricants and Toys

Our selection of feel good lubricants are only organic, all-natural and paraben-free.  So you can feel good about what you’re putting in and on your body.

Cleaning your toys:

For the most part toys can be cleaned with a mild soap and water, stainless steel toys or glass can be easily boiled.  Traditional toy cleaners contain a host of chemicals, that’s why we don’t sell them.  After a night/day of fun we recommend you clean your toys frequently.

At the end of the day we want you to the know you’re starting out having good clean fun, the rest is up to you :)
